Hebrews 11:1-4
New Living Translation
11 Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
2 Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.
3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.
4 It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith.
What is faith? It says the things we hope for. But I wonder if we are hoping for the right things. What do we put our hope in. Faith means complete trust or confidence in someone or something. And trust means firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. Is the God inside of us enough for us to have faith and trust? We have to believe that Jesus knows what is best for all of us and walk in faith believing that He can take care of what concerns us. It says that even though Abel is dead his faith still speaks. What will speak about our faith when we stand before God. I want Him to say good and faithful servant.
I speak peace over you today.
