repentance

Psalm 19:12-14

New International Version

But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me, then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Who can see his own faults? We can always see what everyone else does wrong, but when do we look just at ourselves? I think God wants to clean my pot before I try and clean someone else’s pot. God makes a distinction between those who sin in ignorance and those who sin willfully, repentance is always necessary to receive forgiveness. Repentance is literally a change in one’s attitude about God and accompanies saving faith in Christ. To sin willfully is to be proud and presumptuous

in one’s defiance of God. Remember, keep your words clean so your heart can stay clean. It’s what we say and how we say it that can get us in trouble. Think on good things today.
