PROVERBS

So is a person who deceives his neighbor, And says, “Was I not joking?” For lack of wood the fire goes out, And where there is no gossiper, quarreling quiets down.

PROVERBS 26:19

One writer puts it this way where there is no wood a fire goes out. If we are careful how we jest then we won’t say things we mean in a hurtful way and pass it off as I was just joking. Be careful this season as you get to gather with people how you jest and cut up someone maybe hurt that you really never meant to hurt. And be careful what you repeat it might not be true and can really hurt someone else.
