Matthew 5:43-45
New International Version
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
What enemy takes up most of your thoughts? Maybe they are not your enemy. Yes, they have hurt you and possibly hurt you deep but they are not the enemy. God said to love them. I wish that was easy but it’s not. Jesus said that even the sinners can do good to those who do good to them. I think in this Jesus is asking us to look at ourselves and see the difference at how we treat people and family. It’s easy to treat a stranger good but can we treat the person who is so hateful to us good? That’s what Jesus said to do. The picture I am sending you today has this verse very well it’s of a cactus that is just how I feel. That they are prickly and they pick at me all the time. I wish I had everything figured out , but Jesus does. He wouldn’t have asked us to love if it was too hard. Be careful how you get stuck.
