valley of vision

2 Kings 4:27-30

New International Version

When she reached the man of God at the mountain, she took hold of his feet. Gehazi came over to push her away, but the man of God said, “Leave her alone! She is in bitter distress, but the Lord has hidden it from me and has not told me why.”

“Did I ask you for a son, my lord?” she said. “Didn’t I tell you, ‘Don’t raise my hopes’?” Elisha said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand and run. Don’t greet anyone you meet, and if anyone greets you, do not answer. Lay my staff on the boy’s face.” But the child’s mother said, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So he got up and followed her.

When was the last time you were so determined that you didn’t care what anyone said or thinks? Well this woman had that determination. She knew what she needed and went after it. She wanted a child so much and couldn’t have one and now she felt like he was being taken away from her. Gehazi mean’s valley of vision. They may have a vision but you have determination. To get what you need from God. Don’t ever give up on your dreams or what has been placed in your heart. Get so determined that nothing can stop you from reaching your goals or needs. She might have been bitter but let us turn bitter to better. God will!
