Romans 12:12-17
New International Version
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Has anyone ever hurt you? I don’t think there is anyone who hasn’t been hurt one time or another. I am sorry but I don’t think I want to take a plate of food to the person who just hurt my feelings. Maybe dump it in their lap. Just being honest! God knows how we feel and He says that He has it not us, my problem is I never want to let go of it and let Him take care of me and them. But God says if they are hungry feed them. We are not to be overcome by evil. I have often heard it said that the church is full of hurting people. And hurting people hurt people. We have to overcome evil with love not evil for evil. Love covers a multitude of sin in me not my enemies. Start looking at myself then I wont be focused on the hurt so we can move on to what God wants for us. May God richly bless you today.
