But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.
Genesis 50:19-21
When was the last time you were able to look at the people that wanted to hurt you and say don’t be afraid? Joseph was able to say it twice. I don’t know about you but when someone wants to do me in and I have been lied about, and treated as bad as they can I don’t think the first thing I want to say to them is not to be afraid. I think it would be better to be afraid. But true forgiveness is when you can look at the person that wanted to sell you out and truly love them. That you would help provide for them in their time of trouble. That is the way God would do it. What they mean for evil God will turn it around for good. Hope you have a blessed night.
